Every visit starts with

Whole-system duct and dryer vent check with before-and-after photos - you see exactly what came out of your vents

Worth knowing

That "$99 whole-house special" is a bait ad - the real number appears once they are in your hallway, or the "clean" is a shop-vac at the register. We photograph the inside of your ducts before and after instead.

Nikro Vent Sanitizing: The Frisco Owner’s Guide

We stock and install Nikro-compatible vent sanitizing components for Frisco homeowners, with typical installed pricing running $280-$480 depending on system reach and access. Most replacements are completed same-day because we carry the common Nikro fogger heads, solution lines, and pump assemblies on our Frisco-based trucks. You’ll usually discover a problem when the post-cleaning musty smell returns within days, or when your technician’s fogger won’t hold pressure through the full duct run.

Which Nikro Models This Applies To

Nikro builds vent sanitizing equipment across several lines, and the part you need depends on which generation you’re running. The SL4000 series uses a 1.2-gpm diaphragm pump with a proprietary quick-connect manifold; the SL5000 and SL8000 lines upgraded to a 2.0-gpm pump with a different thread pitch on the solution line. Check the aluminum spec plate riveted to the pump housing, not the plastic housing sticker, which fades in Texas heat. The plate lists model, serial, and pump PSI rating.

We stock both OEM Nikro pump assemblies and quality aftermarket equivalents from Abatement Technologies and Guardsman. The aftermarket units match Nikro’s 100-psi operating spec and carry the same one-year part warranty, though we default to OEM if your unit is still under Nikro’s original 3-year pump warranty. One compatibility gotcha: the SL4000 manifold gasket is 2.875-inch OD, while the SL5000 moved to 3.125-inch. Mixing those causes slow leaks that show up as pressure drop halfway through a job.

Signs Your Nikro Vent Sanitizing Is Failing

Signs Your Nikro Vent Sanitizing Is Failing
  • Pump cycles but won’t build past 40 psi. The diaphragm has cracked from sanitizer residue crystallizing during off-seasons. In Frisco, we see this most in systems that sit idle from November through February when homeowners skip maintenance.
  • Fog output is patchy or drips from the nozzle. The orifice plate has eroded from quaternary ammonium compounds running at too high a concentration. This is a wear item; expect 18-24 months in regular commercial use, closer to 36 months in residential rotation.
  • Solution tank draws down unevenly or surges. The check valve ball seat has deformed, letting pressure bleed back into the tank. You’ll hear a rhythmic chug from the pump instead of steady operation.
  • Electrical cord or switch housing gets warm during use. The motor is drawing excess amperage because the pump head is seized partially from crystallized residue. This is a fire risk; stop using the unit.
  • Job completion times have stretched 30% or longer. Pressure loss means the technician compensates with slower passes and more solution volume. The part is failing economically before it fails completely.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

Component Part Range Installed Range
Pump assembly (OEM Nikro) $140-$190 $280-$340
Pump assembly (aftermarket) $95-$140 $220-$290
Nozzle/orifice kit $35-$55 $120-$160
Full solution line + manifold $80-$130 $220-$320
Complete sanitizing head rebuild $210-$340 $380-$480

What drives the range: access to your air handler, whether the plenum needs partial disassembly to reach the injection point, and whether we’re matching an existing Nikro spec or retrofitting from a discontinued series. Every Frisco job starts with a written price under Haven Standard Clause 1 before any panel comes off. The installed price includes the part, labor, pressure testing to 120 psi, and a documented photo record of the fog pattern inside your duct run. Work is backed by our 365-Day Done Right Promise in writing.

DIY or Call Us?

There’s no high-tension spring or electrical panel exposure here, but there is a genuine equipment risk. What you can safely check: confirm the unit is plugged into a grounded 15-amp circuit, inspect the solution line for kinks or cracks, and verify the tank lid gasket seats cleanly. What goes wrong with DIY: overtightening the manifold bolts on the SL5000 series strips the aluminum threads, cross-threading the solution line fitting cracks the pump housing, and using non-spec sanitizer concentration voids any remaining warranty. We’ve replaced three homeowner-damaged pump heads in Frisco this year, two from overtightening and one from a hardware-store O-ring that swelled in quat solution.

We carry SL4000, SL5000, and SL8000 pump assemblies, manifold kits, and orifice sets on our Frisco trucks. Call (940) 290-8552 and we’ll confirm your model match over the phone, then schedule a time that works. The photo is already on your phone before I say what it costs.
